July, Again.
Oh, gawd, I love July, the queen of summer. Did as a kid, and more so as an adult, especially when playing public school teacher (summer vacation, you know.) Love it here in the Pacific NW, where I will match our July up to ANY other place for its usual bugless, humidityless, blueskyness personality.
I have, in some Julys past, posted every day in July. In 2017. In 2022. I seem to always have a resurgence of energy in the long light days of summer and it’s still too early to buckle down and create the annual calendar. (Procrastination has always been my go-to.) I have been a little remiss of late in posting on the blog, so here I am again, thinking I will try to post something each day. Or close (having already missed July 1!) My life isn’t all that exciting on a daily basis (I know…go figure.) So I occasionally may revisit something from the last 17 years of my blogs about art. Or from my collection of alphabet books or picture books. Or the junk on my studio desk. (Just kidding on that last one.) I like to stay in touch with you all. Stay tuned.
Here are the daily posts from July 2022….and 2017. Trust me, I KNOW you have much more to do than revisit these collections, for heaven’s sake. I’m just sayin’. (There ARE a few gems * within, if I do say so myself. I have, humbly, listed them below)
It has become an annual event to post my ode to summer video “These Are the Days.” The kids who appear in the video are (at least) 8 years older today. Time does fly out the front door quickly, does it not?
*My personal favorites from the 2017 July marathon: New Shoes, Have You Found, We Forget, Coolest Thing
…and the 2022 marathon: Faces in the newspaper, Back and Booked, T is for Tuesday, News Flash.
