MY FAVORITE BLOGS.

Dispatch from L.A. Mary Ann Moss. You will love hearing from her when she posts. Witty, beautiful phrasing, love of life and appreciation of the little things.

Tall Tales from Kansas. Carol Mulvenon. If you like Mary Ann (and you will), you’ll love Carol, her sister. Her blog has a different look than Mary Ann’s but the same wit and word-crafting about her life and art in Lawrence, Kansas. Books and recipes, too.

Kim Klassen. Photography and elegant crafting. I have taken many a course from Kim. Gorgeous stuff. Beautiful blog. Even if you aren’t into photography or the latest cameras, you will be awed by the beautiful and serene photography.

Paris Breakfasts. Carol Gillott. An American living in Paris, who posts often about her Paris walks, finds, and places.

Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. Very art-oriented. Shares almost daily her current work, new ideas, studio and family life.

Leslie Fehling. Draws and sketches her travels.

The Cottage Nest. Jen Kershner. A cozy blog, as you might expect.

The Stripe. Grace Atwood. A lifestyle blog with LOTS of lists and links. Wonderful photography.

This time tomorrow. Krystal Bick. Bold and beautiful pages. And if you do nothing else here, read The Death of Stills and Stillness. Sort of what I’ve been saying myself.

The Artist’s Greenhouse. Stephanie Fizer Coleman. Drawing and sketchbook-oriented, for those who are looking for techniques and ideas.

Samantha Dion Baker. “Draw Your World.” Daily sketchbooks (and I love her style). Ideas for sketchbookers, journalers, artists.

Carla Sonheim. Carla is a favorite artist of mine, so it goes without saying I love reading her blog. She has blogged even longer than I have and you can still see earlier ones which are more “bloggy” than current ones. Currently, her blog posts are often about a class she offers, but even then, she has samples and bits and pieces. But you will especially enjoy older posts, especially if you are a fan like me.

Sketch Away. Suhita Shirodkar, “obsessive-sketcher,” records her travels with a sketchbook. (If you are interested in travelers who sketch, google it and you will find many awesome sketchers. I always THINK I will be sketching when traveling, but alas, it is not usually possible for a myriad of reasons. I take a lot of pictures, always hoping to turn them into drawings when the trip is over.)

Studio Notes. Cathy Cullis. Notes from the studio and everyday creative life of this English artist.
