No, No, November.

“All the leaves are gone, and the sky is gray.” I woke up singing this tune by The Mamas and the Papas and it fits here today. We have had a LOT of rain and it’s brought the leaves (mostly) down. We’re predicted to have a rainy (snowy?) winter season in the Pacific NW. Actually I get much done on a rainy day, no urge to catch the rays calling me away from the task at hand. Still, as a lover of summer and admirer of fall, I am with trepidation looking forward to winter. I remind myself, as one who grew up in Illinois winters, it’s really not so bad. We will survive.

There are much worse things happening across the land and over the world. But that’s a subject for another time, another place. But I am here to say it worries me. I hope we will survive, we Americans. I hope I live long enough to see good change.

These obviously unfinished images are NOT from the new calendar. They did not pass the Fussy Curator. I did a lot of that this time. I changed my mind and/or tweaked many times. (Honestly, some of the images I spend the most time with end up abandoned. Perhaps instinctively I know nothing should take that much effort. Giveitupalready.) Nobody would classify me as a perfectionist, but I do find myself futzing away at the making of the new calendar. I’m happy with the 12 who survived but I left several goodies behind.

Below, find once again the information about the 2026 calendar, EAT and a preview video. And a reminder that you can save a few bucks with Early Bird pricing through the 8th, next Saturday. Everything you need is at the shop. Hope to see you there! (And sincere thanks to those who have already purchased one. I truly appreciate it.)

This year’s calendar, EAT, celebrates what we all like to do. All artwork is original, and is either drawn, painted, and/or collaged or is created digitally. This calendar makes a dozen of this favorite thing I love to create. (I made a video of the first ten years and 11 calendars you can view here.) The calendar is available at the shop at Early Bird prices through November 8. The Early Bird price is $18.50 plus shipping and tax if applicable. After that, the calendar will be available at $21.00 plus tax and mailing. Calendars will be mailed out the first ten days of November.

The calendar is still a work in progress; I refine each piece up to the last minute! Some of the images in the preview video below may not be in the final dozen pieces. Each set is printed on high quality card stock. They are ready for framing or display, (an inexpensive easy-to-load-from-front frame is also available at the shop), or display each piece one by one on a wall, easel, or refrigerator. The calendar is wrapped as a ready-to-give present and accompanied with a goody bag.

You can find more information at the shop (dianemoline.com/shop) along with a code to use if you don’t need it mailed to you and saves the mailing cost.

Early bird purchases help me with the cost of printing and paper, so it’s a good thing for both of us!

And, okay, I know. I’ve posted this before. It just always suits me about this time when the calendar turns. And it isn’t even bleak November yet.

No sun — no moon!
No morn — no noon —
No dawn — no dusk — no proper time of day.

No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member —
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds! —
November!
