Have a good one, 2026.
May we all meet here again, next year, happy and healthy.
We are currently in southern California, our old stomping grounds, to see the new year in with our dear and long-time friends. It’s pleasantly warm here (66) but we seem to have brought the rain here with us. No matter; it makes us feel like home. And it’s a warm, misty rain. Nothing to keep us from enjoying the place.
I always look forward to January, as dark and bleak as it can often be. For me though, it seems to be a nice long stretch of time without major events, so I can make art, try to manage clutter and detritus, and tackle the pile of books I borrowed or bought recently. I’m hoping for snow this year. Just enough to whet my appetite for it.
The cookies I didn’t bake this year. (These delights were baked by my frIend Kelly. Yum.
I believe there’s one more eggnog latte to be had and then it’s wait till next year.
