Checking in.

Hello. How is it the 12th already? I know, I know. I’ve said this before. Time is on roller-skates, really good, fast roller-skates, zipping down the sidewalk in a big rush.

I’ve been working - playing - with a number of things while I wait for the sun to appear permanently around these parts. It has been teasing us and we all get spring fever and then it gets cold and gray again. With a. bit of fog for expression.

One thing I’ve enjoyed doing is dressing women.

I used a rubber-stamp image to draw something similar and then, using a Fashion book from the shelves, put some outfit on her. I think it brought me back to my Paper Doll days. I LOVED my paper doll days.

And I returned to a Carla Sonheim class I had never finished and found this to do. A whole different look, definitely her style, not mine, but great fun for me anyway. The outfits are done with packing tape over magazine images to have the very imperfect look. Also the eyes.

God save us from this lunatic.

Other things that have occupied my life lately:

This version of Bolero.

Trying to keep up with my self-inflicted goals. I am sometimes my own worst enemy. Included in the goals are my visual journals pages, faces in the news, birthday presents, and classes I pay for but never get to. Just a few. There’s also a pile of library books. What can I say?

I am enchanted by this. So clever. (On Threads, link below, for lots more clever stuff.)

I had a series a few years ago of similar miniatures. It was part of my Daily Amazing series and is here. A sampling:

And if I could put in a gentle plug, if you are inspired by what artists (of all ilks) are doing and, well, amazed, you will enjoy the Daily Amazing series. I actually did spotlight something every day, for awhile, that amazed me. You can find them all in the link at the top under All Things Arts.
