Hanging on to summer.

Are these just the reddest, juiciest leftovers from summer yet?!

Since the last post at the beginning of this month, we have seen much to be both dismayed and exhilarated about. The apparent dismantling of our democracy in front of our eyes is most dismaying and I fret every day. The happy stuff includes the gradual changing of the seasons (and while I personally mourn my favorite summer days yielding to fall, at least it IS beautiful autumn that awaits) and my two favorite baseball teams will be in the playoffs. What a delicious yet difficult treat it would be to have the Cubs vs. Mariners in the World Series!

Soon it will be time for new calendars at the shop. This year’s theme is EAT. More later; hope you’ll watch for it.

The postcards from France arrived. In the last post, I mentioned that I arrived at CDG airport without having put the cards in a mailbox that, if there even was one, I did not ever see. I put the stamps on them and laid them on an unoccupied departure station, hoping a local Parisian would slip them in a mailbox for me. And s/he did!

And….just sayin’….
