No, no, November.

Before I lament about the onset (onslaught?) of November, may I take a moment to remind you that Early Bird savings on the new calendar, “STILL,” ends in three days. You can save a few bucks on the calendar and mailing. There’s a preview video at the bottom of this post and also at the shop here. The most recent post (October 30) also has information.

I may look ready.

But I am not ready for short gray days and cold black nights.

Or cutting back the garden, throwing mulch on it to save it from winter.

Or the onslaught of Christmas so early in the month.

Or the frightening upcoming midterms.

Yes, I know to everything there is a season, and, in my head I know that the winter season has its merits (check back with me later and I'll come up with them, I'm certain.) But in my heart, I'm sorry, November...I am not ready for you.

No sun — no moon!
No morn — no noon —
No dawn — no dusk — no proper time of day.

No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member —
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds! —
November!
