Hmmm...I had to think about this. Of course, we all want to be happy. But I get it. I had a good friend once who looked for her happiness around the next corner. "When I get married..."  "When I graduate..."  "When we have a bigger house..." My Mom, bless her heart, was inclined to fall into this "When-I" pit, too, so I had an early life lesson. I"m not sayin' I'm giddily happy every day...some days suck...but whatever "happiness" is, I'm a pretty happy camper and hope I've made others happy along the way, too, purposefully or just by not being a bitch (most of the time.)

This photo is from the paper but Bob's was just as pretty, if not more so.  I just forgot to take a picture I was so enchanted.        Photo by Mark Boughton. Recipe in Parade, March 25, 2018.

Having said all that,  this was happiness. Lemon-blueberry Dutch Baby that Bob, the Chef around our house, surprised me with one recent morning. The recipe appeared in the Sunday paper and in real life at the breakfast table on Monday. It was perfect. Happiness is a surprise giant popover: thanks Bob!
