It’s jewel box day. B is for Bountiful.

we are not bound for anything worse
than we can imagine, as long as we turn
on the kitchen lamp and light a flame
under the pot, as long as we sip coffee
from beautiful China-blue cups and love
the steam of the shower and thrusting
our feet into trousers. As long as we walk
down our street in sun that ignites
red leaves on the maple, we will see
faces on the subway and know we may take
our places somewhere among them.

I stand corrected. She’s from Portland, Maine.

Make it bigger here. I was unable to link to the original page in NYTimes Book Review. Credits to Bob Eckstein and Nava Atlas for the page.

(Hey, about this one, can I just say? Hundertwasser was one of the artists featured in the 2020 Whose House calendar. This post was about him, my attempts at applying his style - just for fun - and a video. It’s hard not to have fun with Hundertwasser. Love this guy.)

…and in case you can’t get enough of him, like me, here’s a little video creating something Huntert fun.

And while I have your attention:

February 1st is kick-off day for this year’s Poemfest. A poem and original artwork in your email each day, just for fun and to get through another winter month.

You can see last year’s poems here to get a flavor of what is to come.

If you participated last year, you are automatically signed up, unless you choose to opt out. If you didn’t participate last year, how about considering it this year? You will need to subscribe to this special activity by doing so here.
