A January Poem Fest, because why not?

January’s American Road Trip calendar month featured a cold, icy, but crisp and blue January day on Rte. 47 near my hometown of Elgin, Illinois. The scene was breathtaking and I stopped to get out and take some photos, freezing my tush off, but just the same….

To read a poem in January is as lovely as to go for a walk in June.

I found this quote and decided to play with it this month. All of my readers are receiving the first poem today, along with January screensavers to download. I’d like to share a quote each day through the month, trying to find the unique, witty, pensive, or beautifully-penned ones (and perhaps a poem or two that are all of these.) If you would like to receive an illustrated poem in your email each day in January from me, sign up below. As always, and you must know, that I keep these lists close at hand. I’d love to be able to share poetic joy with you this month. January is hard, and this one threatens to be one of the hardest yet.

And here are some January screensavers, ready for you to download.
