Four things for (this particular) Friday

I never paid too much attention to June 19th before. When I was teaching, it was often the last day of school, or the day report cards were due, or some other work-related date to give my thoughts to. I have known about Juneteenth; I just never paid it much heed other than its significance. (Why is this date and the Tulsa Massacre not part of every school history curriculum?)

This year is the year to change that. All the events of the recent past (OMG - hasn’t this year already seemed like five?) require us to do so. With that, and the pandemic still with us, I offer up these to you for your consideration.

There are many more longer looks at the museum with a search on YouTube. I, for one, cannot wait to visit, sooner rather than later, I hope.

And finally, for today at least, a lovely reminder.
